What is a Resonating Gift?
Resonating Gifts are a creative way for you to show friends and family that you care and a way for you to help The Royal Conservatory at the same time. There are a number of different Resonating Gifts at different values and all help The Royal Conservatory to provide services.
How do Resonating Gifts work?
Each Resonating Gift will help the Conservatory pay for real expenses that we incur as we work toward achieving our vision of promoting a culture of creativity in Canada. When you purchase a Resonating Gift, your contribution will be added to different operating funds that are used to pay for various expenses including the items listed in the catalogue.
How can I purchase a Resonating Gift?
You can purchase a Resonating Gift by using your credit card over the internet at www.rcmusic.ca/resonatinggifts, or over the phone by calling 416-408-2824 x.228.
I would like to support the Conservatory in a way that is not included in the catalogue. Can I do that?
If you would like to support an area of the Conservatory that isn’t listed in the catalogue, please call us at 416-408-2824 x.228 and we’ll be happy to talk with you about your donation.
What will I receive once I’ve made a Resonating Gift?
When you make a Resonating Gift, you will be given the choice of cards that you can use to show that you have made a gift.
What kind of cards do you have?
We offer: electronic cards (e-cards), pdf cards that you can print and a card that is printed by the Conservatory that we can send you or on your behalf.
What if I don’t want to receive any cards?
We offer you the option to not receive any cards for the purchase of your gifts at the time of purchase.
If I buy a gift on behalf of a friend or relative, how will that person be notified?
You can choose to receive a Resonating Gift pdf card that you can use to let friends and family members know that a gift has been given in their name. Or you can select to receive a printed card that can be sent to your friend or relative or to yourself. Alternatively, you can email them a Resonating Gifts e-card.
Can I send a card directly to my friend?
You can send an e-card directly to your friend or you can download and print a pdf card to be sent directly to your friend. Whichever method you choose, you can add your own personal message to the person receiving the gift.
Can I get one card for multiple gifts?
No. Currently each gift receives an individual card. For example, if you buy two hours in the Tech Lab you will receive two cards.
Can I place a message in the card?
You can write your own personal message in any of the card options you choose.
How long does it take for my card to be delivered?
PDF cards can be downloaded as soon as you purchase a gift. E-cards are sent within 24 hours of your purchase.
What happens if my card does not arrive?
If for some reason your e-card or pdf card does not arrive, please call 416-408-2824 x.228 and we will be able to issue you a new card.
Do Resonating Gifts e-cards expire? Do they have to be retrieved within a specified period of time?
E-cards are sent directly to the recipient’s inbox and will remain active as long as the recipient does not delete the email.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
When you purchase a Resonating Gift, you are donating to The Royal Conservatory which makes your purchase eligible for a charitable receipt. Once you have completed your purchase, we will issue a tax receipt in your name and send it either by email within 24 hours or by mail within 10 business days.
Are Resonating Gifts only for the holiday season?
No, you can purchase a Resonating Gift at any time during the year.
Who will receive the gifts I purchase?
Gifts in support of bursaries will be directed to students that have applied to and have been selected for a bursary. Contributions made in support of other gifts listed in the catalogue will be directed toward different operating funds that are used to pay expenses and those using the services of the Conservatory will benefit from your Resonating Gift.
How secure is my information?
The Royal Conservatory uses an encryption to protect the transfer of personal and financial information between your browser and our servers. When using the Conservatory’s donation pages, a small lock or key symbol in the status car of your browser indicates that you are connected securely. Personal information and financial transactions are stored on our secure database server. Stringent security guidelines are in place to protect this data, and its use and release. All other questions regarding privacy and how personal information is governed and managed by The Royal Conservatory can be answered by clicking on this link to our Privacy Policy.
