About RCM

For more than 120 years the wide-ranging educational programs of The Royal Conservatory (RCM) have advanced the creativity and personal development of millions of Canadians in virtually every community in our nation.

Our mandate is to develop human potential through music and the arts.

The Royal Conservatory has a range of world-leading programs designed to meet the creative needs of Canadians at all stages of their lives and learning.

The Glenn Gould School is internationally recognized for providing professional training and career preparation for gifted young musicians at our Bloor Street campus.

The Royal Conservatory School offers teaching programs for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Music training can range from classical to D.J. techniques, from jazz to world music.

RCM Examinations set and support standards in music examinations that are conducted in hundreds of communities across Canada.

Royal Conservatory Performing Arts division features world-class concert series in our three stunning venues: Mazzoleni Hall, Conservatory Theatre, and the new, acoustically superb 1135-seat Koerner Hall. Performances present a rich legacy of diversity, artistry, and excellence through concerts of all genres and events for all ages.

Learning Through The Arts (LTTA) is a division of the RCM that has leveraged insights from neuro-scientists into the learning process using proven methodologies and programs that are reshaping public education. A Queen’s University study showed that LTTA students scored 11 percentile points higher in math than comparable schools.

Young Artists Performance Academy provides supportive, comprehensive training for talented students aged nine to eighteen at our Bloor Street campus.

The Frederick Harris Music Company is the largest print-music publisher in Canada and the exclusive publisher of all Conservatory-authored publications.
